I really hope this finds you keeping well and enjoying the gradual movement to lighter restrictions, sunnier weather and having the much needed face to face connections again with family and friends...
It has been so lovely seeing many of you back in the cabin since reopening and having the privilege to channel therapeutic touch and rest to your much needed muscles, skin, and mind, after what was such a hefty winter period. I am really looking forward to seeing those who are booked in over the coming months too.
I think that from September time bookings will have settled again (she says!!) after such a busy spell from reopening and my treatment availability will have eased a little- I do apologise if you’ve had a longer wait than usual for your regular treatment sessions but do feel free to book as far in advance as you like, to avoid disappointment.
I just thought I’d update you on some newbies in the cabin too-sharing a few skincare additions that have launched over the last month or so and a new little device I have as part of my treatment toolkit!
With perfect timing as the sun is making an appearance more and whilst we are outdoors more than ever, we at Liz Earle have launched a truly brilliant SPF specifically for the face, hurrah!! It’s called Environmental Defence Mineral Cream SPF25, designed to be worn over your moisturiser to protect daily from UVA, UVB, Blue Light and environmental pollution. It is such a lovely addition; it’s mineral based rather than using chemical filters, so it literally acts like a protective shield of amour on your skin to reflect the harmful rays away. It’s suitable for all skin types, including sensitive with a beautiful lightweight texture too. It is gently pigmented, designed to blend with all skin tones to leave skin looking fresh, bright and glowing. To top it off it’s packed full of skin nurturing ingredients including blueberry seed oil, lingonberry seed oil and shea butter to keep skin hydrated and comfortable.
A magic little pot of goodness has also launched at Liz Earle called Multipurpose Beauty Balm. This is a wonder balm for all aspects of skin dryness enriched with olive fruit oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil and shea butter- it’s perfect for lips, nails, cuticles, heels of the feet-basically anywhere with dry, flaky patches. It’s handbag size so perfect whilst out and about but equally a lovely little balm to have on your bedside table to treat your skin whilst you head to sleep! I’ve been using it lots in treatments under facial steaming too, to soften the pores before extraction and it’s been brilliant at doing just that! It’s also really lovely under a nourishing mask for particularly dry skin for an added layer of moisturisation.
Onto my ever growing toolkit- I have brought into the cabin an OxyJet Go device. This is something I’ve had my eye on for a while since it launched in the UK- I used the OxyJet system for many years back at The Sanctuary Spa and adored the results it brought to the skin- added hydration, a plumper feeling to the skin from the inside out and in turn softening the appearance of lines-whether that be dehydration provoked lines or due to chronological ageing. It works by supplying the skin with micro encapsulated oxygen and concentrated active ingredients which provides an immediate smoothing effect to the skin whilst stimulating collagen formation and replenishing energy stores of the skin to revitalise. I absolutely love the (German!) technology and science of it whilst it fully aligns with my skin treating philosophy; non invasive, effective and working completely in harmony with the skin. This features in my facials-The Sculpter, The Hydrator, and The Bespoke (unless we are going down a more Purifying path!).
New ParagraphAnd lastly, I know I chat and recommend to many of you on ways to support your overall well-being, body mobility and to reduce stress levels and the wonderful practise of Yoga.
Over the last lockdown period I started my practise with the incredibly talented Bexley-based teacher, Daphné https://livewellyoga.org.uk/ All happening virtually, she gives the most amazing sessions, two classes are never the same, and she, like me, has her own beautiful cabin/studio in the garden where she will start delivering her sessions again in person by mid-May.
As her classes have a quite limited number of students, individual attention can be given offering to each a more bespoke practice. I’ve even had a session safely in her garden and it was absolutely incredible—under the immensity of the sky, held by the earth, cooled by the breeze and lulled by the bird songs! Nature at its finest! As we all revert to ‘normality’ and our life gets busier and busier as it used to be, Yoga can really offer you a way to pause, reflect and connect to something more than the ‘doing’ of life. There is a multitude of benefits for embarking on the yogic journey—feeling wonderful on the inside and showing on the outside too!
Watch this space because we hope to create a special retreat together in the Autumn fusing yoga with treatments—so we look and feel wonderful on the inside out! I’ll keep you posted and please do let me know if this is something you would be interested in.
To end, sending you all lots of love and happy vibes for the coming month and enjoy the bank holiday weekend!
